Jake is a 3rd year PhD student in the Biomedical Engineering program at Vanderbilt University. As an undergraduate at North Carolina State University, Jake worked with Dr. David Zaharoff on 1) combining focal cryoablation therapy with sustained intratumoral IL-12 delivery to induce antitumor immune responses and 2) prototyping a chitosan-based fentanyl hapten-conjugate vaccine to generate robust humoral immune responses to fentanyl, thereby preventing accidental fentanyl overdose. In the Wilson lab, Jake is working to improve the safety profile and antitumor efficacy of STING agonists by engineering next-generation polymer-STING agonist conjugates. Outside of the lab, Jake enjoys watching football, going on hikes, and hanging out with his fiancée, Molly, and two cats, Gertrude and Doris.
