Originally from Winston Salem, North Carolina, Mia graduated from high school in 2020 and finished her BSE in biomedical engineering with a minor in mathematics at Duke University in 2024. As an undergraduate, she worked in Dr. Joel Collier’s laboratory researching self-assembling peptide nanofibers for oral delivery of immunotherapies. Mia joined the Wilson lab in 2024 as an NSF Graduate Research Fellow, where she plans to continue researching the intersection of biomaterials and immunoengineering to improve cancer therapeutics.
Outside of lab, Mia enjoys trying out new recipes, playing trivia, and watching movies with friends.
