Blaise completed his B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Ohio State in 2017 with a focus in environmental sustainability. He earned an honors research distinction for his research experience in Dr. L. S. Fan’s research group where he investigated molybdenum doped catalysts for sulfur sequestration from syngas in chemical looping combustion processes. Blaise went on to earn both an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Chemical and Biological Engineering from Northwestern University in 2021. At Northwestern, he earned the NSF-GRFP, the Ryan Fellowship in Nanotechnology, served as a Teaching Apprenticeship Fellow, and completed a certificate program in Management for Scientists & Engineers. His doctoral research, with Dr. Milan Mrksich, focused on the development of enzyme-inhibitor chemistries to enable the programmable construction of protein scaffolds for applications in cancer therapy. Blaise joined the Wilson lab in 2021 to develop logic-gated immunotherapies that offer site-selective delivery and release of a drug to improve therapeutic outcomes for patients. In 2024, Blaise will begin as a tenure-track assistant professor at Ohio State in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, shared with the Comprehensive Cancer Center.
